![]() Re-Imagined Masking Workflow: The masking module, now attached to each adjustment tab contains a comprehensive set of tools including an edge-aware brush, gradient mask, smart feather tool, color aware tool and more.ĥ. Advanced Hue/Saturation/Luminance Technology: Using IntelliColor technology, you can easily enhance your image with the HSL filter, getting stronger, yet more natural HSL adjustments.Ĥ. ![]() Breakthrough Halo-Free Algorithm: Boost contrast and clarity without emphasizing transitions between light and dark areas, eliminating the common problem of halos, noise and artifacts.ģ. (I was bummed when I learned ReMask 5 wouldn't work in TS, but that's no longer a concern.) I can get some very nice prints using SOOC JPEGs from my Oly PEN-F with just a little tweaking in TS.Topaz Labs is happy to announce the release of Topaz Clarity! The technology behind this new plug-in allows for intelligent enhancements in contrast and clarity with absolutely no artifacts or halos.Ĭontrast Control: With Clarity, we have developed a cutting-edge process of selecting specific contrast variations in your original image, allowing you to quickly target and then increase or decrease the contrast and clarity in that specific variation.Ģ. with both the "Clarity" adjustments, and being able to apply to multiple instances of an Adjustment. The masking feature makes me feel like I know what I'm doing, much easier and better than masking in other programs (Affinity Photo, PSPx8, etc.) - esp. The old Topaz Labs Clarity v1.1 is still available as a plug-in, but it could be confusing to some. And yes, there are canyons and valleys where there is still no 'net! Can you believe it?)ĥ. (FWIW, my internet connection is a Verizon JetPack wi-fi. So my perception is that there is some kind of phone-home activity going on. Oh, and I'm not positive about this yet, but I think since 1.1.5 Studio tries to log-in (spinning wheel with "Logging in.,") once a day. This is a major pain when editing in Studio, applying the edit which closes Studio, finishing in the other program, then going on to the next image, and have to wait for access to the Pro Adjustments again. Then they finally pop in, and can be used. When Studio is blocked from the internet, the Pro Adjustments take 45-60 seconds to become available usable during that time it looks like I'm not licensed, they all say "Try Pro". I'm not always connected to the internet, as I have a metered connection, and I often travel to areas where there is little, sketchy, or no internet service, and like to spend some time tweaking/editing images. TS, phone home? Almost from the beginning, I've been trying to get Topaz to fix what I see as a serious problem, that most users might not encounter. But I really do love that Precision Contrast!Ĥ. has enough in the way of exposure controls that I don't use the Basic or Brightness Adjustments. ![]() When I looked at the email for the Clarity upgrade, I was mildly excited, then disappointed to find that I already had it! True, the new adjustments are a little more refined, some additional sliders and controls, but not the life-changing upgrade I was expecting (yes, a bit of exaggeration). and HSL Pro Adjustments, and I've tried to make them my go-to adjustments. Early on, I "translated" my Clarity v1 presets to the Prec. When I first discovered them sometime early June, I immediately bought the adjustments at the intro price (I'd already bought all of the Topaz Labs plug-ins). I really fell in love with two of the Pro Adjustments, Precision Contrast and HSL Color Tuning. (But I'm not happy with how Studio works, but that's a different matter, see #4 below.)ģ. Studio can be configured to run as an external editor from Qimage Ultimate. (photoFXlab doesn't play nice with FSIV and TIFFs so expected the same to be true for TS.)Ģ. (I find this weird.) Studio runs as an external editor in - wait for it - FastStone Image Viewer! I was astounded. Neither will run from the Editor panel of Zoner Photo Studio 18 for the same reason. Both Serif and Topaz are aware of the problem for several (many?) users, but neither has addressed the problem, or even responded by blaming the other party - go figure. They will not run inside of Affinity Photo because of a locked transparency issue. Actually, launching tlclarity2ps_圆4.8bf just opens Studio with the Clarity preset already in the right panel. X:\Program Files\Topaz Labs\Topaz Studio\PS_Plugins_圆4\tltopazstudiops_圆4.8bfĪnd they both run as. ![]() X:\Program Files\Topaz Labs\Topaz Studio\PS_Plugins_圆4\tlclarity2ps_圆4.8bf Unless I'm completely misunderstanding previous comments/questions, both Studio and Clarity are installed as. So, Here's my present relationship with and understanding of Topaz Studio (v1.1.9):ġ.
